===== Hosting environment =====

**//[[ref:glossary:aware_im]]//** allows users to access their [[ref:glossary:business_space|business space]] in the [[ref:glossary:operation_mode|operation mode]] from any location via the Internet using a standard Web browser. This requires [[ref:glossary:aware_im_server| AwareIM Server]] to be installed on a computer that has a permanent connection to the Internet with sufficient speed and bandwidth. The users who do not have a suitable Internet connection can run //**AwareIM**// Server on a computer managed by an Internet hosting service provider, which is called a hosting environment.

Working in [[ref:glossary:configuration_mode|configuration mode]] in a hosting environment in a little different. In particular, the [[ref:glossary:configurator|configurator]] saves business space configuration into a file and then uploads it to //**AwareIM**// Server in the [[ref:glossary:operation_mode|operation mode]] using a special command.

Users who only need to access their information system within a single location do not need a hosting environment.
