===== Operation =====

Operation is an action that a user can perform with the instance of a [[ref:glossary:business_object|business object]] in the [[ref:glossary:operation_mode|Operation Mode]]. This action may start a [[ref:glossary:process|process]], run a [[ref:glossary:query|query]], create a document etc. The action is usually specific to the instance of a business object for which the operation is invoked. For example, a process started by an operation may take the instance of a business object as its [[ref:glossary:process_input|input]]. Operations can be configured on business object [[ref:glossary:object_form|forms]], on [[ref:glossary:reference_attribute|reference attributes]] and on query result screen.
